Chute Service & Maintenance
Intrusive Chute Inspection & Cold Smoke Spillage Test
Many existing and historic refuse chutes were constructed decades ago—often with exceptional durability—meaning many remain serviceable today. Before deciding on upgrades or full replacement, an intrusive chute inspection combined with a cold smoke spillage test is recommended. This process helps determine the most cost-effective route to achieve fire compliance and functional reliability.
- The current condition of the chute and its equipment
- Any required repairs or upgrades
- Whether existing components remain compliant and serviceable
Scheduled Chute Equipment Inspection, Testing, Service & Certification
Regular scheduled servicing ensures continued compliance and performance of chute systems. This includes:
- Visual inspection of hoppers, doors, and access hatches
- Controlled smoke tightness testing
- Replacement of worn or failed consumable parts, such as fire and smoke seals
A time- and geography-stamped digital report is produced, detailing chute condition, compliance status, and any required remedial works. Upon successful completion, chute systems can be certified as compliant.
