HydroChute to Showcase Chute Design and Fire Safety Expertise at London Build 2026
HydroChute will be exhibiting at London Build 2026, taking place on 25–26 November at ExCeL London, bringing together architects, specifiers, developers and construction professionals to discuss the importance of effective chute design, fire safety and waste management in new buildings.
As part of the event, HydroChute Director Charles White will be presenting on the Fire Safety Stage alongside a separate presentation by Ben Levy, Strategic Lead for Fires in Tall Buildings with the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC).
Designing Fire Safety into Buildings from the Start
Fire safety in tall buildings depends on multiple systems working together effectively. But what happens when one of those systems fails to perform as expected?
On Wednesday 25 November, Ben Levy will explore the challenges of fire safety in tall buildings, including compartmentation, smoke control, evacuation strategies and the importance of coordinated planning.
His presentation will consider the practical limitations of fire service intervention and the need for buildings to remain resilient when individual safety systems do not perform as anticipated.
Following this, HydroChute Director Charles White will share his expertise on refuse and linen chute systems, including the latest British Standards, fire ratings, chute smoke tightness and common design and installation mistakes.
The presentation will also explore practical solutions for managing multiple waste streams within modern buildings.

Getting Chute Design Right in New Buildings
For architects, specifiers and developers, incorporating an effective waste management system during the early design stages can help avoid costly modifications and operational challenges further down the line.
With growing demand for recycling facilities and waste segregation in residential developments, chute systems must balance practicality, reliability, fire safety and ease of maintenance.
HydroChute specialises in designing and installing robust, low-maintenance refuse and linen chute systems, including innovative solutions that support multiple recycling streams.
Our patented Bi- and Tri-Waste Streamer technology allows different waste streams to be managed through an integrated chute system, helping developers incorporate effective waste segregation into building designs from the outset.
By working closely with project teams during the design and specification stages, HydroChute helps ensure that chute systems meet the practical requirements of the building and its users, both at installation and throughout their operational life.
