Competency isn’t something you claim, it’s something you apply.

It’s common practice in a bin room to put the fusible link shutter at ceiling level.

The problem is that often the ceiling is not accessible from the floor without using access equipment, and sometimes it’s not even accessible then.

So HydroChute designed their fusible linked shutter or FCP, fire closure plate as we refer to it, to be installed at the base of the discharge pipe, a fraction above the bin or just above the waste streamer equipment if that’s installed at the site.

And that means that the caretaker can use that piece of equipment to shut the chute safely for the swapping of bins without having to use a stepladder or any kind of access equipment. And that when an engineer attends to service that piece of equipment he too can access it with ease and without putting anybody in any danger.

So there’s some real thought gone into the ongoing maintenance and operation of our equipment.
