As Operations and Manufacturing Supply Chain Manager, I ensure that everything we fabricate in our in-house workshop are made to the highest standards that far exceed British standards and the fire regulations. Our engineers have a strong working knowledge of key British standards including BS1703, BS5906, BS9999 and BS9991.

BS 1703 covers everything from the design stage right through to the manufacture of refuse and linen shoots and the associated hoppers as well. And it’s a very comprehensive standard because it pulls together a wide range of other British standards that govern manufacturing processes such as welding, correct materials to use and even down to choosing the correct coatings and finishes.
